Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a fertility treatment that involves injecting a single sperm directly into the center of an egg to help couples conceive. ICSI IVF is a Procedure of Using an embryo made through ICSI Process in IVF Treatment. It is a type of assisted reproductive treatment (ART) that is often used when male infertility is a factor, such as when a man has a low sperm count, poor sperm quality, or blockages that prevent ejaculation. ICSI can also be used if a couple has failed to fertilize during previous in vitro fertilization (IVF) attempts.
During ICSI, an embryologist bypasses the egg shell and membrane to inject the sperm directly into the egg, which increases the chances of fertilization. The process is similar to IVF, but instead of mixing sperm and eggs and leaving them to fertilize naturally, the embryologist manually injects a single sperm into each egg. ICSI can be performed after warming previously frozen eggs, which can be collected using the same technique as IVF and then frozen the same day. When the couple is ready to try for pregnancy, the eggs are thawed and fertilized using ICSI.

In India, a single cycle of ICSI treatment can cost between 2.1 to 2.6 lakh INR, which includes the cost of injections, the procedure, and freezing any excess embryos. Treatments at top fertility hospitals may have a higher success rate, but may also be more expensive.
